Phillip A. Washington, oversees a $10 billion dollar Capital Improvement Program at the 54-square mile Denver International Airport. His Vision 100 Plan preparing the airport to accommodate 100 million passengers by 2030 is ahead of schedule. Mr. Washington was nominated by President Biden to be the next Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Administrator, co-chairing the Biden/Harris Infrastructure Policy Committee, and he was presented with the Judge Harry Pregerson Public Service Award for his service to U.S. military veterans. He was recently appointed by U.S. Department of Transportation Secretary, Pete Buttigieg, to serve on its Advisory Committee on Transportation Equity. Mr. Washington is a past chair of American Public Transportation Association (APTA) and a former member of the Executive Committee of the Transportation Research Board and the Eno Center for Transportation. NAS Decarbonization Report
The National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine has published a new report through the Committee on Accelerating Decarbonization in the United States: Technology, Policy, and Societal Dimensions. This report is a second examining the U.S. transition to decarbonized energy. The first report provided a technical and federal policy blueprint and its recommendations helped shape climate policies included in the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act of 2021, CHIPS and Science Act of 2022, and Inflation Reduction Act of 2022.
