| The Asset Leadership news keeps arriving in big groupings, so it is hard to keep the ALN Line-of-Sight newsletter brief. But we try our best. Here is a little bit about how last week went…Senate and Congressional staff warmly received asset management guidance and sought more information from ALN Organizational Members…a meeting with the Architect of the Capitol Enterprise Asset Manager revealed the promise of upcoming programs…a tremendous Parks & Recreation web program was broadcast with our colleagues at the Asset Management Council…the United Nations Asset Management key executive continued talks about future activities, including an in-person event at the UN HQ…. the National Institute of Building Sciences’ 50th Anniversary conference featured ALN Organizational Members and executive staff in a closing workshop demonstrating powerful, futuristic problem-solving capabilities available today…NIBS Brains & Bytes Digital Twin AI workshop activities will continue on June 20 when there will be a live fed from the RealComm Conference. | During the week of May 13, Michael McAndrew, the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Construction within the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense spoke at the SAME JETC 2024 Conference. He stated he has hired an Asset Manager for the Office and she will oversee the creation of a DoD-wide Asset Management Policy. Mr. McAndrew attended Asset Management Roundtables co-hosted by Booz Allen Hamilton and the ALN in 2016 and 2018. |

| The National Institute of Building Sciences was established by an Act of Congress in 1974. Since then it has contributed greatly to advancing building technology in a way to protect lives and support the nation with practical applications to improve organizational mission outcomes with better building performance. NIBS has contributed to protecting buildings from earthquakes, hurricanes, tornados, floods, fire, and more. The NIBS Whole Building Design Guide continues to be a source of solutions to a wide range of issues. Federal Agencies interested in exploring issues deeper can contract with NIBS to draw on and build from the many projects and initiatives already addressed. Specifically, Federal Agencies can develop Facility Asset Management projects to dramatically improve their mission outcomes. |

| This week, the ALN Art Asset Leadership Board is launching with a very different ALN Th@3 pm ET – live from an art gallery. While a core of the new Board is the University Health’s management of its $10 million collection in service of its mission of improving patient health, we will focus first on making art and the value creation this age-old human activity can give organizations. Melissa Kolbusz ‘ recycled art is featured in a 3-woman show at the Chicago Sculpture International Project Space. She has been commissioned by EFFEN Vodka to create jewelry from its rubber labels. She takes un-used medical tubes and creates bracelets. She has taught an entrepreneurship seminar on how to incorporate reuse of waste material into product designs and business plans.
