Line-of-Sight Newsletter 27 August 2024

It is appropriate that an organization formed to advocate the creation of an international, consensus-based asset management best practices system, reboot when those best practices are refined and expanded.

The Asset Leadership Network is happy to blast out of a summer break with a series of web programs on the recent publication of ISO 55000, ISO 55001, and ISO 55011 revisions along with the new ISO asset management documents – 55010, 55012, and 55013 – respectively, government/institutional impact, involving people in Asset Management, and treating data as an asset.

We will start the 2024 Fall Season of ALN Th@3 pm ET on September 5th with a 30-minute web discussion on the revised ISO 55000 document. Intermittent Thursdays from then will feature discussions of the other documents.

Interspersed will be programs and web workshops leading up to an in-person event on Capitol Hill on November 13 featuring federal executives making great strides in asset management. See the schedule below in Ideas.

Programs will highlight state water asset management activities, federal agency asset management, an asset management web workshop, interaction with other associations, reports from in-person events, events on Capitol Hill, and more. (See far below for a recent in-person connection with Marc Morial, who was mentioned in last week’s ALN Line-of-Site newsletter.)

We are excited to be doing this for more than 11 years now, but we want to acknowledge the 50-year anniversary reached last week by the National Institute of Buildings Sciences. Congratulations to everyone at NIBS, we look forward to continuing our work together on programs and workshops.

At Jacobs, we’re working to solve critical problems for thriving cities, resilient environments, mission-critical outcomes, operational advancement, scientific discovery and cutting-edge manufacturing, transforming the world for good.
