The ALN is growing, and we like to grow from within. Like-minded colleagues can see more below about how students, recent graduates, and recent retirees, can gain experience with webinar production, web management, video editing, social media, and other tasks related to association management.
Dr. Dorothy Robyn will be our guest on this Thursday’s ALN Th@3 pm ET on December 2, 2021. As always, see more about Dr. Robyn below in People.
People
This is the first time we have featured the same person two weeks in a row. Dorothy Robyn will be the guest on ALN Th@3 pm ET this week and her position deserves further consideration. Dr. Robyn is policy focused and believes there are more important issues to be focused on than leadership. Her experience as the leader of the GSA Public Building Service and DoD real estate makes this a proposition to be heard. Prior to serving at DoD and GSA, Dr. Robyn spent eight years on President Clinton’s White House economic team and taught at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government. She is currently a Senior Fellow at Boston University’s Institute for Sustainable Energy. Dr. Robyn has a plan for federal facilities to drive clean energy innovation and not just be a user of clean energy. We look forward to Dr. Robyn’s perspective on critical issues. ALN 2021 reStructuring America Highlights
It is our pleasure to now reflect on some of the highlights of a spectacular program in 2021. Our first recommendation is to watch the Federal Asset Leadership Panel and the U.S. Air Force Program, or just catch some of the highlights at the previous hyperlinks. The Federal Asset Leadership Panel has its roots in what ALN Senior Fellow Bob Leitch established at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers prior to ISO 55000 being published. The leadership of this group has been inspiring other federal agencies for many years. The USAF video includes a statement that the organization is 15 years into a 20- to 25-year asset management improvement program. Now that’s leadership! Understanding this long-term perspective can be help other organizations, public or private, benefit from a structured approach to asset management.

ALN Job Ad
Thanks to the tremendous support from Patron Members, Organizational Members, Sole Practitioner Members, ALN Board Members, Government Colleagues, and supporters of all types, the Asset Leadership Network is hiring interns and part-time contractors.
Because we are a highly agile and flexible organization, we are able to craft positions related to specific member requirements, association partnership development, and relevant content delivery to members and the general public.
One of our main interests is in staff with an attitude of continuous professional improvement as reflected in ISO 55001 10.3. Interns and recent graduates come by this attitude naturally. However, we are interested in talking with anyone who has work-from-home capabilities for at least 4 hours during the 7-day week. So recent retirees who want to learn web skills to advance their subject area expertise are welcome to request a web meeting.
The ALN will provide required software. Candidates provide their own hardware and web connections that allow them to do the work of their choosing. Please email info@AssetLeadership.com with recommendations.
