Help with AM Edits
The Federal Highway Administration of the U.S. Department of Transportation has requested public comments on changes to regulations governing risk-based Asset Management Plans. The edits are aiming to address significant issues, such as ways “…to improve the capacity of State DOTs to integrate asset management into their organizational missions, cultures, and capabilities.” ALN is preparing comments. MAP-21 AM Language
The Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century (MAP-21) transit legislation includes some of the best Asset Management language in the U.S. It is very good that the Department of Transportation, Federal Highway Administration, is following its mandate to periodically improve language regarding ways State DOTs must develop Asset Management Plans in order to receive funding.
