It’s mid-September and we really all should be back at school – or at least considering our continual education asset management. This week’s Th@3 pm ET web discussion program gives us a chance to do a little of that as Lindsay Ziegler will talk about developments with the ISO 55000 standard series and what’s in store for the next ALN A55K Professional Certification training course. See more below in People and register at this link.
The Andrew James Advisory Group is holding ALN A55K Professional Certification training September 18 – 29 & November 6 – 17. The web course provides thorough and meaningful understandings of the ISO 55000/1/2 asset management structure. The training involves recorded courses and readings as well as instructed web discussions. A final session involves creation of a Strategic Asset Management Plan that drives home the theory into a class activity that can be used directly at work.

Addressing Natural Assets
We can get a handle on how to value the huge expanse of natural assets by looking at the management of Tiny Forests. The Tiny Forests movement is something we discovered while researching for the ALN AiBrainSTORM – TreesSTORM, which will be on October 19th at 3 pm Eastern. Tiny Forests are very small, densely planted areas of land that support faster growth of trees and plants because of the shade created by the intense planting. The ALN event planning team has gotten involved with leaders of the Tiny Forest movement to the point where we are generating support for an ASTM standard written with one of world’s leading advocates on the subject.
